  • JoAnn Geiger, LPC

    JoAnn Geiger, LPC, is a dedicated therapist with a deep passion for supporting first responders through the unique challenges they face. With extensive experience in trauma-focused therapy, JoAnn provides specialized care for firefighters, law enforcement officers, paramedics, and other emergency personnel who are regularly exposed to high-stress and life-altering situations.

    Recognizing the immense mental and emotional toll of their work, JoAnn takes a holistic approach to wellness, addressing not only the psychological impact of trauma but also the physical and emotional well-being of her clients. She integrates therapeutic modalities with mindfulness, resilience training, and self-care strategies to help first responders build strength, process trauma, and regain balance in their lives.

    JoAnn is deeply committed to creating a safe, supportive space where first responders can process their experiences without judgment. She understands the culture of service and sacrifice and is dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health in these professions. Her mission is to ensure that those who serve others receive the care and tools they need to thrive—both on and off duty.

    In her free time, JoAnn loves to read, kayak, hike, and explore new places. Travel is a huge part of her self-care and how she re-energizes to do the work she does. Inspired by her passion for holistic wellness, JoAnn founded Strength in Wellness, Inc. to provide first responders with greater support and to foster a community of wellness that strengthens resilience and well-being.

  • Lizzie Kinnison, LCSW

    Lizzie Kinnison, LCSW, is a dedicated therapist and passionate advocate for the mental health and well-being of first responders and their support systems — including spouses, partners, children, and extended family. With the experience of working with individuals and groups, Lizzie provides personalized, compassionate care that meets people exactly where they are in their journey.

    She recognizes the immense stress and trauma that come with the demands of public service and understands how those challenges often extend beyond the uniform, affecting life at home and in personal relationships. Lizzie takes a holistic, trauma-informed approach to care, fostering a safe and supportive environment where individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered.

    Understanding the unique cultural stigmas often present in first responder communities, Lizzie is committed to breaking down barriers to mental health support. Her mission is to create a space where both first responders and their families can build resilience, find healing, and strengthen their overall well-being — professionally and personally.

  • Natasha Jones, LPC

    Natasha is a genuine and passionate therapist dedicated to supporting individuals in high-stress, high-impact roles. With lived experience as a correctional officer and deep personal ties to the first responder community, Natasha brings both professional expertise and heartfelt understanding to her work. Her firsthand insight into the pressures faced by emergency responders—and the ripple effects on their families and support systems—drives her commitment to helping those who are often expected to be the strongest.

    Natasha has worked in a wide range of settings, supporting diverse populations and addressing various mental health challenges. She thrives on learning and growing as a clinician, continuously exploring new techniques and therapeutic approaches. Believing there is no one-size-fits-all method to healing, Natasha meets each person where they are, embracing their individuality and helping them discover the tools that resonate most. Her goal is to empower clients to achieve their own definitions of wellness and success.

  • Morgan Klein

    Morgan is a compassionate and dedicated counseling intern and graduate student with a background in emergency medical services. Due to her background as an EMT, she is passionate about supporting first responders and miliary personnel as well as their families through the ups and downs of first response work. Morgan provides specialized care for first responders, including fire, emergency medical services, law enforcement, dispatch, and military personnel who regularly put their lives on the line in order to help others. 

    With her experience as an EMT, she recognizes the psychological and physiological toll that first response work has on not only the first responders themselves but their families and support systems as well. Morgan believes in taking a holistic approach to wellness, as it addresses root causes, emphasizes the mind-body connection, builds resilience and balance by integrating stress management and emotional regulation, and overall, improves one’s wellbeing by supporting all aspects of an individual’s life. 

    In her personal life, Morgan enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her dog, Waylon, hiking, spending time outdoors, doing DIY projects, and reading. She is committed to fostering a safe, understanding, nonjudgmental and healing environment for all.

  • Angie Grogan

    By day, Angie serves as the Director of Operations for Trailways Counseling, LLC, where she strives to create impactful processes that empower their dedicated team of providers, who are focused on enhancing the mental health of people in the communities they serve.

    At Strength in Wellness, Inc., Angie assists with operations and information technology so that providers can focus on supporting our incredible first responders! 

    Helping first responders is especially meaningful to Angie because her brother and sister-in-law have dedicated their lives to law enforcement. First responders are always there when we need them, so Strength in Wellness, Inc. is a way to give back to them for their continued selfless service. Assisting with getting first responders into the outdoors provides so many physical and mental benefits, for example, stress reduction, better sleep and enhanced mood.

    For self-care, Angie enjoys spending time with her son, Brady, and the rest of her amazing family. She enjoys reading, pretty much anything, but especially thrillers. She also loves traveling and snuggling with her cat and dog.

  • Matt Strickland

    Matt Strickland has been a law enforcement officer since 2007. He began his employment in Northwestern Wisconsin before he transferred to the North Central region of the state. During his professional career he has served as a patrol officer, a narcotics K-9 handler, and is currently serving in a leadership role.

    He is a peer support coordinator and co-chairs his agency's wellness committee. In addition, he is a SAFLEO Suicide Prevention Instructor, CISM certified, instructs multiple disciplines and assists his agency with developing future leaders within his organization. He has had the privilege to honor a fallen officer by serving as a family liason officer and has developed a passion and dedication towards helping others.

    In his personal life he enjoys spending time with his wife and children along with their canine companions He enjoys coaching youth baseball, water skiing, and outdoor recreational activities. His diverse background of professional and personal experiences have fueled his passion for first responder wellness.
